Who doesn’t love the great outdoors? Nature is such a beautiful venue in itself that you wouldn’t think it would need anything additional. This past June, KYAE had the pleasure to help newlyweds Kennedy and Carl with their backyard wedding. This backyard wedding was “knot your average” backyard event! These two really took it above and beyond to ensure their guest enjoyed the outdoor amenities with all of the indoor luxuries. Kennedy and Carl hosted their wedding on their family’s farmland near Hillsborough, NC. The average farm is acres upon acres of land; and that’s just it, bare land. There’s no plumbing, no lighting, nor is there shelter to protect from the weather elements. We had the opportunity to partner with some of the best vendors to make accommodations for this outdoor extravaganza.

Dream builder productions where dreams do come true, is a production company specializing in lighting. In the words of Jenn B. “ Lighting, one of the least considered services by brides- but one of the most requested services by planners because of the visual impact it will have on your event”. Kennedy and Carl may have been a bit skeptical on the green and blue up-lighting paired with their mint green linen, however the two trusted KYAE in making the best decisions. The blue and green lights were fabulous and did not clash at all. It truly made the evening magical and Kennedy and Carl Loved it!

Not only was Dream Builder responsible for aesthetic lighting, they were also responsible for safety lighting. Light towers were provided to light the parking area and the trail leading off the property. This was especially crucial for 200 plus people to be able to see in the dark of the night. It eliminated any possible car accidents or injuries, we were grateful for a simple shine of light that one may have taken for granted if not thought of.

Another one of our awesome vendors was TCS Event Rentals based out of Burlington, NC. TCS has been in business for over 25 years and is most notable for their extensive inventory and accessory items. At this wedding, TCS provided the tables, chairs, isle platform, and restroom. Out of this list, I want to pay special attention to the restrooms provided. Most people don’t initially think of where 200 guest are going to use the restroom at an outdoor wedding. It’s also not the wisest decision to let 200 guest use your indoor plumbing. TCS provided us with luxury restroom trailers that featured 10 restroom stations, quartz countertops and basins, effective and clean flushing system, and air conditioning. In addition to the trailer, TCS provided several hand washing stations throughout the reception area. The guest really appreciated the small things.

In addition to the safety lighting and restroom trailers, Kennedy and Carl made sure their guest were fully prepared for an outdoor event. They provide comfortable flip flops as one of their party favors. Guest could kick off their closed-toed shoes, or pesky heels, and be comfortable. They also brought in two enormous fans that blew cool air for yards. Guest were kept cool with the fans and hydrated with the endless refreshing tea and lemonade. We can definitely say that this backyard wedding was one for the books.
